To nobody’s surprise, Trey has kept the most busy of the four members of Phish. The first major thing Trey did (after supposedly taking a Caribbean vacation directly after Coventry) was record his solo album Shine with producer Brendan O’Brien. Trey & O’Brien supplied the majority of the instrumentation and vocals with only one other real hired gun, and that was drumming monster Kenny Aronoff.

Review: Old Crow Medicine Show & The Felice Brothers @ Minglewood Hall

I’ve lived in Nashville, Tennessee for going on nine years at this point and since my residency here I’ve only traveled to Memphis one other time for a show. You see, the stretch of I-40 between Nashville and Memphis is called Music Highway — but to me it’s just flat out BOOOOORING.

[We’re All In This Thing Together]

This past Sunday was my second trip to Memphis to witness Old Crow Medicine Show and The Felice Brothers. After an (actual) enjoyable three-hour road trip and a pork-pulled sandwich from Tops the mood was set for what was witnessed at the completely new-state-of-the-art venue venue in Memphis — Minglewood Hall.

I’ve had the opportunity to see the Felice Brothers a couple of times this past year, and to be perfectly honest – their 45 minute set was the sole reason I traveled to Memphis. But the music lover I am, I decided to stick it out just to see what Old Crow had to offer. READ ON for more…

Jane’s Addiction’s name was attached to three of yesterday’s biggest music news stories. First came word that the band’s 48 minute set at LA’s Echoplex on Monday was a scorcher.

This album is a regression for The Secret Machines – and one that is to be expected with the amicable departure of guitarist Ben Curtis, who focuses now on School of Seven Bells.

Heartless Bastards: The Mountain

Because of The Mountain's emotional depth and Erika Wennerstrom’s amazing voice, this album is a rare and a very beautiful work, reminiscent of the old time blues that inspired Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones and countless others.

While Page didn’t stay as active as Mike, there’s still a lot to look back on since Coventry. Most notably, Page recorded his first solo album, a self-titled effort released in 2007. While Page had previously recorded two albums with Vida Blue, this was officially dubbed his first solo album. Page debuted a lot of material from the album at moe.down in 2006 with a band that included Jon Fishman on drums and a number of other musicians who appeared on the disc and subsequently toured with Page in 2007.
